This is a public service announcement ... with guitar!
No, that's a lie. It's an entirely self-serving announcement, though I'll throw some guitar in at the end. I just have that line stuck in my head because The Clash's "Know Your Rights" keeps coming up on my ipod.
Anyway.
This will probably only be relevant to those of you in the New York area, but you never know: I'm looking for an apartment share starting either 4/15 or 5/1, preferably in Brooklyn. I've made a point of not complaining about it too much on the blog (in person is a different story!), but I've had a lot of problems with my current apartment and my current neighbors and I'm going to leave when my lease is up. I'm open to different neighborhoods, as long as I won't be mowed over by million-dollar strollers every time I walk outside and I feel safe there — I have a fairly high tolerance for urban grit and gristle, but there are still parts of the city where I wouldn't be comfortable living.
I know that everyone thinks they're a good roommate, the way everyone thinks they have a great sense of humor, but I will say that I've lived with a lot of people I met through Craigslist or friends of friends, and it's almost always worked out well. Some of my closest friends are people I met as roommates and I'm in friendly contact with just about everyone I've lived with since moving to New York.
So, if you know anyone looking for a roommate, please feel free to send 'em my way. Who knows — there may even be some sort of finder's fee treat in it for you... Thanks!
And, as promised, some guitar:
I live in the Boston area in a one bedroom, so I'm of no help other than to say: sorry, it's such a drag when stuff like that happens.

Hmmm...how tempted am I to say "let's do the legwork together" because it would force me to make the move I'm too lazy to make...

Too bad that the current place is not working out.

Are there neighborhoods in Brooklyn you're more drawn to?
